Located about halfway between Nashville and Memphis, Cedar Down Farm is the culmination of years of dreaming for a piece of land that could provide our family with a more self-sufficient and healthier way of life.
​
Originating from the beautiful state of New York, Matt & I decided we'd had enough of the long, cold winters. Clocking nearly 5,000 miles of driving across the state of TN, we finally stumbled upon this former horse ranch. Here we could envision cows and sheep ambling the pasture, chickens and turkeys free-ranging the farm, meat rabbits hippity-hopping, and a vegetable and fruit garden providing us with plenty of produce. With both wooded and open land for animals, hiking, and 4-wheeling, Cedar Down Farm became our new home.
With Becky's love for animals and animal husbandry, Cedar Down Farm also become home to KayaKedi Turkish Angora cattery, a cat breeding program devoted to the health, conformation, and preservation of the glorious Turkish Angora “Aristocats." This breeding venture has now come to a conclusion, but we remain vested in promoting this wonderful breed via information and links to other breeders similarly interested in the Turk.
Our Border Collie, Cooper, and our Dutch Shepherd, Zeva, help keep our animals and farm safe and free from unwanted vermin. Our 6 keeper Turks, Spike, Ren, Arthur, Gandalf, Gimli and Quida, help keep the dogs on their toes!
